Client Spotlight: Kate Bosworth

We had the pleasure of working with actress, model, and all-around ‘it’ woman, Kate Bosworth. When we say ‘it,’ we mean to say that she embodies it all - she has that effortless air about her that makes the combination of her stunning beauty and intelligence make you want to scratch your head. We were thrilled to go about reorganizing her home in a sustainable way, partnering with The Container Store to incorporate more glass and wood than plastic and create systems that had a positive effect on the world, such as easy recycling and reusable items.

She shares the home with her husband, Michael, and both happen to be big time travelers with a craving to cherish the rare moments where they get to relax. In order to allow them to capitalize on those moments, we simplified where necessary and implemented new systems so they could unpack faster and unwind sooner. To put these systems into effect, we quite literally couldn’t have done it without The Container Store and some of our dream products which include but are not limited to the Clear Expandable Drawer Dividers, the European Commercial Crate and wood hangers.

Kitchen

Michael is a big baker and cook, so the kitchen was filled to the brim with different baking/cooking ingredients and cookware. After a quick rundown, we noticed the space already had a lot of great built-in organizing systems that we could work with. The switch that needed to be made was maximizing the space to work within their routine. In the end, we used drawer organizers to keep the cooking utensils organized, decanted most of the baking ingredients into airtight containers and spruced up the placement of everything so that the kitchen had a better flow.

As the pair are both into health and fitness, we kept an entire space dedicated to vitamins, protein powders, and healthy food so that they could easily grab what they needed when it came to staying fit and healthy.

Bathroom

Kate is super knowledgeable about skincare and cares a lot about her skin health (we all know that glow!) but with no containment or method to the madness when it came to her products, she was missing out on curating a morning/nightly routine that benefited her the most. We broke everything down into categories, added labeled containers, and kept only what she loved so that every time she went to indulge in her skin, she was using what brought her the most joy (and the most glow). In the end, this was one of our favorite spaces to transform. When we have a blank canvas (zero systems and bringing in our favorite product) it opens up so much space for creativity. It came to life after a reorganization and shelf risers, mesh containers and lazy susans! Can we all take a moment of silence for the before and after of this mirror shelving?

Master

After the end result of this space, we think we’ve died and gone to master bedroom/closet heaven. We had a lot to work with in terms of the space: glass encased wardrobe, built-in tie hangers, and the shoe shelving that dreams are made of. Since they both love to travel, we wanted to create a system that worked for them in that it allowed them to easily pack and unpack for trips. Additionally, since they’re both so busy, these systems would ideally help them spend more time together and less time putting things away. The beauty of the built-in closet was that it took rearranging, file folding and some added hangers made for handbags to make this closet come to life. Honestly, we wouldn’t be surprised if unpacking became their new way to spend quality time together.

Kate’s vanity benefited greatly from the addition of drawer organizers, some even tailored to makeup in general. Now instead of needing to sift through different bags and drawers, she has labeled, contained and categorized drawers that can take her from 0 to 5 minutes to be ready to leave the house.

This home was a beautiful space that we were so happy to organize with the help of The Container Store and now it has the systems in place to be celebrated and enjoyed in the way it should.
