Picking the Right Organizing Products for Your Bathroom

One of the most commonly asked questions I receive is "what products should I use to actually keep my things organized?"

Well, this series of blog posts is dedicated to explaining why we pick the containers that we do for each space. Containers are great for creating systems because at the end of the day, they’re the things that keep your inventory compartmentalized and create a true system. Of course, they can add to the vibe of a room too, which makes it fun! To get a basic understanding of why you might opt for certain products, read this deep dive into the benefits of different materials, shapes, and functions! Read about picking products for kitchen/pantry and closet, if you haven’t already!

The fourth post in this series is about all things bathroom product. To find the best containers for lasting systems, it takes some time. You should think long and hard about the intention behind your bathroom inventory, and how you can build an organization system around that. We’ve worked in thousands of bathrooms, so we have a deep understanding of which products work best. Here are my top tips for picking the right organizing products for your bathroom!

As you begin, you should start by asking yourself these questions about your bathroom products:

Structured plastic is usually the default pick in bathrooms because it’s easy to wipe down and with a mostly liquid inventory, spills are going to happen! In drawers, you’re probably not looking to stack containers, so open containers are great. Under the sink, however, stacking is key to making the most of the awkward space, so lidded containers are ideal. We love utilizing clear containers in the bathroom because they make it easy to find anything in a moment’s notice. If you decide against micro-sorting or using smaller dividers within drawers/bins, but you still want a clean and refreshed look every time you step into the bathroom, consider using opaque containers to conceal items.

No matter how you decide to tackle your bathroom, what’s most important is that you choose products that are going to work for your needs daily. It’s important to really think about the intention and purpose the products will serve in your system when you roadmap your bathroom out.
