How to Organize Your Bathroom

Looking to get organized but not sure where to start? The bathroom is our #1 recommendation for your first space to tackle. That’s because the inventory in here is typically less than that of other spaces in the home, and implementing a system in the bathroom can majorly transform your day to day routine! When we organize our clients’ bathrooms, there are some staple products in our arsenal that we almost always use. To make organizing your bathroom as easy as possible, we’ve put together a list of our favorite things so you can shop and create your own LIJ bathroom #goals ✨.

If you feel like you need more of our guidance along the way, be sure to pre-order our founder Jen’s first book, Life in Jeneral, before it launches December 7th to receive all of our How-To Guides for FREE (including our how-to bathroom guide!) The bathroom how-to guide features 20+ pages of tips & tricks to getting your very own LIJ signature bathroom transformation.

Shallow Drawers

All bathrooms are unique, but one storage space that most everyone has to work with is shallow drawers. Use these to store your everyday toiletries, and the things you reach for regularly. To keep it organized, containment is key. Categorize your items and separate them out with drawer organizers! You can mix and match shapes & sizes to make them work with your inventory. We gravitate towards acrylic and plastic because they’re easy to wipe out if (ok...when) your toiletries spill! Shop our signature bathroom drawer dividers:

Deep Drawers

For deep drawers, we don’t usually use the same dividers as we do for shallow drawers. We also vary what we like to store in these, but here are some common categories: hair tools, non-everyday skincare, feminine products, nail & foot care, and medications. Here are our go-to deep drawer bins:

Under the Sink

For a space that doesn’t have much structure to it, we create storage solutions! Stacking bins and cabinet organizers is the best way to go down here. When it comes to what to put under here, try these categories: travel, backstock, nail & foot care, heat tools, lotions, bath bombs. These are the products for under sink containment that we’re obsessed with:

Cabinets & Shelves

If you’ve been with us for a while, it’s no surprise to hear that we love to use the same products throughout the home! Organization is about getting creative to create function in your space. For cabinets & shelves, we use risers, spinners, and bins depending on size and inventory. Use risers to display your hair & skincare serums and makeup products. Use spinners for easy access to haircare, lotions, tanners, and other tall toiletries. Use bins for backstock toilet paper, cotton pads, etc. Here are our signature picks:
