January (& Final JIJ Week) Roundup

Congratulations! You have officially completed the 31 days of January In Jeneral! Over the last 4.5 weeks, we have worked together to remove clutter from our spaces, and replace it with sustainable and aesthetic storage solutions. I hope you all are feeling the magic of organization, and how it’s a practice that goes so far beyond the perfect fold and lazy susan. When you take time to clear your home and structure it in a way that supports you, you are ultimately taking a step in prioritizing the things that matter most. With that, I cannot begin to express what a blessing it was to hear about and see photos of your journeys along the way! Before we discuss highlights over the entire month, here is a little recap over the final days of January In Jeneral:

Day 30 & 31

Two words: digital detox. I think we can all agree that technology can be overwhelming (for multiple reasons).  Whether it’s opening up your computer and seeing hundreds of downloads covering your desktop, or page after page of apps on your phone, it can be a lot. If you are experiencing any of these emotions, a day dedicated to digital decluttering might just be what you need. When trying to figure out your decluttering steps, I want you to first think about what will make my digital environment feel calm and clear of distractions. Per usual, I suggest everyone to start small. This step can be as simple as unsubscribing from sources you want nothing to do with, or backing up your photos to google drive. For all my simple steps for digital detox, make sure to read my full blog post! Once you have completed those initial digital decluttering steps, this is when you will want to give each piece of technology some major TLC. In my recent Digital Declutter blog post, I break down every step I complete to organize my computer, email, and phone! I am confident each of you will feel lighter and more at peace with your technology after completing these steps.

Now that we have finished all 31 days of January In Jeneral, let’s go over some of our highlights from the last month!

January’s Jeneral Highlights

  • Embarking on the January In Jeneral challenge with each of you! I can’t begin to express how much it fills me up to hear how this challenge has changed your life.

  • I was able to log off for a couple of days to indulge in time with my family and friends in Aspen!

  • I wrote a blog post each week summarizing the progress we had made in JIJ. Each blog post shared my highlights from the week, my favorite products, and other sources for anyone who wanted to dive even deeper.

  • I went to the most incredible seminar in Dallas, where Ed Mylett brought me to tears with his words.

  • The Life In Jeneral team brought back two of my favorite things, car organization and budget friendly hacks, with this reel

  • I know that there is a lot of pressure in the New Year to get in shape and be healthy. I have chosen not to force myself to stick to a new lifestyle, but I did make the conscious decision to incorporate more habits that make me feel good (and avoid those that don’t). Whether it’s a walk in the morning to get my body moving, some stretching at night, and really prioritizing consistent sleep! It’s only been a month, but I already feel like a new woman.

  • I  continued to share my must-have organization, lifestyle, beauty and fashion pieces on LTK. If you don’t follow us already, this is your reminder.

  1. Would it even be a best-sellers list if Brother P labeler wasn’t on it?! You have probably heard me say it (over and over), but labeling makes everything clearer and more efficients. It’s truly an essential in my life!

  2. These stackable acrylic drawers are another must-have for me! You can use these for basically everything from under the sink for sponges, gloves, and dish pods, to storing all your makeup items in your bathroom.

  3. We talked quite a bit about office organization over January In Jeneral. There is nothing quite as stressful as a chaotic workspace. These file holders are such a game-changer for anybody’s office!

  4. I'm in love with this eco-friendly ziplock storage container. Bon voyage stacks of bent and cluttered ziplock boxes.

  5. I am confident that I use these acrylic holders for almost every client’s home. They are perfect for separating and containing a drawer’s inventory in the bathroom or kitchen.

  6. If you saw my recent reel on puzzle and game organization, you know how much I love these cases! They are the perfect size to store, stack, and label puzzles and games. I also love that they are see-through so you have the option of taping the picture of the puzzle (that is being contained) inside.

This community means the world to me and I am forever grateful to share it with each of you! Don’t miss our favorite projects this month over on our Instagram stories for all of the organizing BTS! Be sure to follow us on Pinterest, LTK, and Amazon to stay in the loop about all things Life in Jeneral :)

xx Jen
